Body Mass Index Calculator
This tool calculates your Body Mass Index (BMI) which gives a value based on your height and weight that reflects your probable fatness or thinness. BMI is often used as a guide as to whether you are underweight or overweight.
This BMI calculator also suggests how much weight you should aim to gain or lose to be in the ideal weight zone for your height. Also, you will find out what category of Body Mass you are currently in such as overweight or underweight.
The tool works by dividing your weight in kg by your height in m squared. This is the standard calculation for BMI.
Please note that the BMI is very simplistic and does not take into account the amount of muscle mass and bone density in a person. It is better to measure your body fat percentage using a method such as skin folding. For example, if you can pinch more than an inch of fat at the side of your waist, you may have too much body fat.
